A New LINE Sticker set! Eye Stickers!

At work we created another set of LINE stickers! LINE is insanely popular in Japan. It’s just so simple for people to communicate and to exchange stickers to express their feelings and intent.

We previously released another Sticker called “Usui-kun” but this time we worked on a new concept. Using the Eyes only to express the users feelings and intent.

Using Comic books and Manga as inspiration we created a set of eye stickers with lots of personality.

You can check out the stickers here on the website :

Here are some examples of our Eye Stickers.

We only released the Japanese version at the moment, an English one is in the works too. I like how there is a mix of Japanese and American style Japanese manga eyes.

Recruitment site graphics

For our New Years project we had a little bit of a makeover in Photoshop. Very industrial look! For the past three years somehow I’ve had to change my image for the New Years project (which I am fine with! More than willing!). However, this time I’m a bit worried about potential employers looking at me in a weird way! I shouldn’t think about it or be really concerned but I think it brought out my tough side this year. It does help that I shaved half my head in a crazy act of individualism and looking at too many Pinterest pictures whilst drinking beer. I have to say Natalie Dormer had a huge influence on my hair choice. Love it now but at the start it was really difficult to get used to.

With the 2015 project we went with this look :

We look pretty good when we are all lined up together. Worker Designers and Programers!

I look very tough in this photo! I don’t mind it, red is our corporate colour, so I’m very glad my hair fitted in well with the style of it. Although I can speak Japanese,  I went for English instead of Japanese on our site. I’m not hired there because I am from another country, but I thought it would be nice to put a little bit of my culture and me up there.

I gotta say I do look a bit scary! But I’m not actually.. (well heres hoping I’m not!)

Company leaflet

A few years ago I had the fun project of creating our works company leaflet. Seeing as we are a design company who focuses on being a little bit different and going beyond satisfying our customers needs and expectations. This was fun!!

We have so many work events, Japanese events and before/after makeovers and our end of year project that there was so much material to choose from.

The inside shows our events and company data through an easy to understand info graphic. (In Japanese though so maybe not so to English readers!) we included average age, ability to drink, relationship stats, and our ratio of work.

This project was aimed at graduates, so we tried to put as much information in the leaflet that would interest the graduates and give the reader an idea of our employees.

We have two companies in our office, Choreo graphic and web design and Cloud software and application development. This makes for some interesting partnerships and projects aw we can have coding and software support as well as a completely different opinion from our cloud coworkers.

The companies are merged, but still separate enough to let us have our freedom. Mainly Choreo is full of young graduates and a few older members (I’ll be in there somewhere).

I’m currently the oldest woman working there. It’s a bit strange compared to the UK, but in Japan a lot of woman don’t aspire to careers, but rather to have a family. A Lot who have careers give it all up to raise a family. Same in the UK in a lot of cases, but the ratio here is very surprising. There’s a lot of companies that don’t have the facilities or support systems to allow women to come back to work after having children. Japan is so forward in some things, and stuck in others. But I digress..

Generally our company is full of young, energetic people who like events and dedicate themselves to their work. We are a team that works together and individually on so many different projects. Life at Choreo certainly is challenging. Not just because of the culture difference, but because of the challenges we receive at work and to surpass the expectations of our clients.

Recently the younger generation of our employees updated the information within the leaflet and it made it look slightly fresher!

Usui-kun Line stamp! Making Line Stamps.

At work we have been working on Line Stickers, of which we managed to make our own original one!

Line the application is incredibly popular in Japan, with the general population communicating with it everyday.

The application uses stickers as well as text to communicate to friends in a chat like window. I never really understood it until I saw the thousands of cute stickers that were available to use. iMessenger could take a leaf out of Line’s book and make themselves some stickers.

The sticker we designed is a character that is practically see through… Our concept was a sad little character that doesn’t have much to him, but he has his see through-ness and his pessimism. Recently some not so cute, but more pathetic like characters have been popular, so we tried out hand at making one too!

The process took about a month to make but going through the site to publish it took 3 whole months! Not exactly the fastest way to get your work out there, but fun in the end.

You can buy them on the site for a mere 100yen! We have an english and Japanese version. The Japanese version is cute with the Japanese lettering. A fun project to work on. Wouldn’t mind doing this again, but with thousands of LINE stamps out there…do we need any more? They have stamps to make everyone happy!
